A launch pad for leadership skills – The Australian Jewish News

FOLLOWING the success of the two previous LaunchPad Leadership programs, Australian Jewish Funders (AJF) has just announced a third cohort.

The initiative is an online course open to professional and senior lay leaders of all stages of life, across the diverse Jewish landscape.

The three-month course offers expert facilitation, guest speakers, masterclasses, leadership labs and virtual programming, as well as access to a network of fellow leaders.

AJF co-chair Justin Greenstein said, “If you are currently in a leadership or board position in a Jewish community organization, have a growth mindset and seek to connect with peers like-minded people, apply to be part of this transformative journey.

Applications to register close on March 27 and the program is expected to begin on April 26.

The virtual program promotes and builds a culture of leadership development and connection, combining Jewish values and technical skills to ensure a vibrant and thriving Jewish community in Australia. Topics explored in the program include design thinking, scenario planning, communication and leadership presence, organizational strategy and culture, and fundraising.

Recalling the success of previous cohorts, Greenstein said, “One of the greatest accomplishments of the program has been to stimulate collaboration between organizations and cities, thereby strengthening Jewish life.

As the course is delivered virtually, people from all states and territories can apply. The schedule is packed and requires two hours per week of online programming, one hour per week of offline reflection, five hours on Sundays, plus additional readings and preparation for the upcoming week’s session.

Michelle Fischl, J Connect Board Member and program alumnus, said, “LaunchPad Leadership has been an incredible few months of learning and exploring. Each session was unique, interesting, insightful and contributed to my knowledge and personal growth. I feel more confident and connected to my community than ever before.

Joel Lazar, alumnus and CEO of the Jewish Climate Network, told AJN, “The network of people that LaunchPad Leadership brought together was like no other – thoughtful, smart people who all want to make a lasting difference.
