Legacy High School and Midland High School students who are currently enrolled in Midland College Automotive Collision & Repair, Diesel Technology, and Energy Technology dual-credit courses have won multiple categories in the 2022 SKILLS USA district competitions held on 25 and February 26 in San Angel.
These dual credit MC students won six gold medals, six silver medals, and four bronze medals. Additionally, six MC students placed in the top 10 of the Automotive Tool Identification competition. The gold and silver winners, along with the six students who placed in the Automotive Tools competition, will now compete at the state level.
“We are very proud of these students,” said Erick Gutierrez, associate professor of applied technology at Midland College. “They have worked incredibly hard to hone their skills and refine their projects. Their efforts were rewarded in the regional competition, and we look forward to showcasing the tremendous talent and skills of our students in the state competition.
