This startup empowers students to pursue global education and careers

Following the pandemic-induced disruptions, the international education market has entered an exciting new phase. World travel has largely resumed, with the most sought-after universities welcoming students to campus. As things slowly move towards a new normal, students eager to study abroad are confident about embarking to study at the universities and destinations of their dreams.

According to the last Cambridge International Student Destination Survey, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Canada are the top four global destinations for students to study abroad. Greater awareness of international education and course choice, as well as broader career opportunities, drive students’ decision to study abroad, according to the survey.

A one-stop-shop for studying abroad

Leap, which was established in 2019 and now operates LeapScholar and LeapFinance, is South Asia’s largest online study abroad platform. The company’s offerings include tips for studying abroad, IELTS online coachingvisa application and funding.

For the founders, Vaibhav Singh and Arnav Kumar, the goal was to create a student-centric and customer-obsessed company that could enable young, ambitious students to access a quality global education. Singh and Kumar, both alumni of IIT-Kharagpur, through a community-based approach combined with a comprehensive range of products for all the needs of an aspirant to study abroad, have created a unique platform for ensure student success.

Enable access to quality education

With nearly 1.5 million members, the Leap community is one of the largest platforms for study abroad aspirants in the world. IELTS test preparation is one of the core offerings in Leap’s suite of products. The country’s top educators help students pass the exam with LeapScholar’s IELTS preparation platform. One of the largest online IELTS learning platforms in India, it has helped nearly a million students achieve high scores. LeapScholar’s IELTS Prep app has over a million downloads and is one of the world’s most popular apps in the IELTS prep space. The app comes with many innovative features, including one of the “Speaking Rooms”, a forum where IELTS aspirants can practice their English with each other for free.

The college admissions counseling service is also among LeapScholar’s key offerings. Its more than 3,000 advisors across the country help students make informed choices about their study abroad plans. LeapScholar’s Leap Advantage helps students access a quality global education through innovative offerings like the College Credit Program (CCP) and Matching Program. With the CCP, students can get a head start by earning credit through courses taught by top instructors from Yale, Cornell, and MIT, among others, at half the cost. The buddy program allows students to begin their academic journey with an American university in India and then earn a master’s degree in the United States. It gives a one-year on-campus study experience and a work visa, which again provides substantial savings.

The company’s financial arm, LeapFinance, offers student loans to aspirants based on merit and future potential.
