New Delhi, April 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) A symbol of knowledge, education and culture, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has established itself as a global hub of education modeled on Nalanda and Taxila.

Located in the ancient city of Varanasi, BHU is known worldwide as an institution of distinction.

About 431 foreign students (261 boys and 170 girls) from about 40 countries, including the United States, Brazil, Russia, France, Ireland, Australia, Yemen and Iran, are studying at the ‘Institution of Eminence’.

Speaking to IANS, the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sudheer Jain, said there was still a lot of hard work to take BHU to the next level.

A scholarship of Rs 6,000 per month for foreign students is set up to attract more and more foreign students, he said.

Another provision to attract foreign students is to increase the scholarship amount if their performance is satisfactory, he said.

The scholarship program was approved at a meeting of the university’s governing body.

For the effective and efficient implementation of the program, the university has formed a three-member committee.

Applications for this program will be received at the Institution of Eminence Cell.

The main reason why BHU attracts foreign students is that it is a renowned institution.

The Vice Chancellor told IANS that the university provides education in a variety of fields, including humanities, social sciences, medicine, technology, science, arts and performing arts, which means truly that BHU is the capital of omniscience.

Every year, thousands of foreign students are admitted to postgraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and diploma courses.

Currently, 15% of the places are reserved for foreign students, which is a supernumerary for them.

The scholarship scheme also gives a boost to the sense of internationalization of the Indian education system from the National Education Policy 2020.
