Collins of Lima City Schools Recognized for Exceptional Math Skills

LIMA — Cathy Collins, team leader of the Lima City Schools Mathematics Program, has been shortlisted for the 2022 Linda M. Gojak Middle School Award from the Ohio Council of Mathematics Teachers.

Each year, the council recognizes outstanding teachers, professors, emerging leaders, and friends of mathematics. Gojak is an Ohio and national leader in math education.

Collins started with Lima City Schools in 1996, beginning in the classroom teaching middle school and high school math classes. She has been responsible for the math program since 2010. She is also currently a math instructional coach and credit recovery coordinator.

The Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics has 3,000 members. Affiliated to the National Council of Mathematics Teachers, the OCTM has existed since 1951.
